Two new projects approved

Andrea Pannwitz and Caterina Cocchi joining NOA

In July, we were delighted to welcome Andrea Pannwitz joining NOA with her project C7 “Novel hybrid systems based on liquid crystals and perovskite nanocrystals for enhanced nonlinear optical properties”. She will bring in new exciting material platforms, liquid crystals and nano-perovskites.

In August then, we were notified that another additional project was approved and are samewise delighted to announce that Caterina Cocchi is joining NOA too! In September, her project A8 “Computational design of mixed-dimensional heterostructures for mid-gap state engineering and enhanced second-order nonlinearities” started, that will strengthen our theory area by bringing in new methods (DFT, rtTDDFT, layerPCM, high-throughput screening,…) with the aim to simulate and predict nonlinear (chi(2)) optical properties of mixed-dimensional heterostructures.

We are very much looking forward to collaboration with both and welcome you and your teams to NOA!
